Philosophy: Is Green Spore Economics Good Beesness?

The fern which is a real burn if you’re seed person is the Adder’s Tongue. Isn’t a good math plant though, because it must have used trial and error (developing over a thousand chromosomes) in surviving on Earth. Why is it that these sporic dinosaur plants have an amazing number of chromosomes? I would guess if they all had to green spore to survive and flourish, why the germ warfare would be intense and mad with life and thrushful thriving against all manner of diversity and climbing above to catch the sun.
