The Stock Dwarf

The Beef Market And PETA

April 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

This beef industry media analysis paper mentions PETA extensively and there is clearly a stress between the American agriculture status quo and the ideological and personal taste of the American public regarding beef, cattle, and cows.

In this photo you can see a hungarian cattle herd. They are healthy cows and well distinguished. The Jain people of India would allow this treatment of cows. Clearly PETA would not disdain the behavior in this kind of pasture practice, i.e. good herdsmanship.

Americans will continue to eat beef, it is part of the agrarian lifestyle and American history and culture and the farm. They would prefer beef that is of the farm or the pasture. There is a Jewish tradition in America that is strong and biblical. We believe that our meat is sacred and kosher and, if it is not, we are less happy and do not feel right.

Beef sellers who can prove that cows were raised with respect and slaughtered in kosher manner will do well, not merely in a particular sector of the economy. There is a regard for purity and healthfulness in the spirit of America, and our consumers will support these channels in beef distribution.
